Fort Lauderdale FL police recently released a sketch of a man who allegedly committed an armed robbery and shooting in October.
According to authorities, the suspect was involved in an early morning robbery at a gas station on Fourth Avenue in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Two men allegedly walked up to the Sunoco gas station at 1303 NE Fourth Avenue and approached the victim in the parking lot. Police said that the suspects instructed the victim to hand over his personal belongings.
The victim was understandably in fear for his life, so he reportedly attempted to comply with the suspects’ demands. However, said police, the main suspect still shot the victim several times.
After the shooting, both suspects reportedly fled the area on foot.
If the suspects are eventually identified and apprehended, they could face serious criminal charges. The suspect who allegedly shot the victim could face charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Additionally, both suspects could potentially be charged with armed robbery and weapons offenses.
Fort Lauderdale police are still actively investigating the incident. Anyone with information about either of the suspects is asked to contact detectives at 954-828-5567. Members of the public with information about the shooting can also call the Broward County Crime Stoppers tip line at 954-493-8477.
