According to officials, the 25-year-old victim was walking on Seventh Street and Northwest Avenue in Fort Lauderdale FL when she was shot twice.
Passersby found the victim lying unconscious in the street. The victim was taken to Broward Health Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Unfortunately, doctors were unable to revive her; she was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department is actively investigating the shooting.
At this time, investigators believe that there might be more than one person involved in the shooting. Police are currently searching for multiple suspects.
If a suspect is eventually identified and apprehended, they could face serious criminal charges and be subject to significant penalties. As set forth by Florida Statutes Section 782.04, anyone convicted of murder can potentially be sentenced to life imprisonment
